Islam is one of the Abrahamic religions. The word itself has
roots in the Arabic language that carries different meanings: submission
to the word of God, purity, and peace, which take us to the comprehensive
meaning of the word that when one submits to the will of God and purifies
themselves, they would live in peace and harmony with themselves and with what
God wills.

Allah is the name of God in Islam and all Abrahamic religions.
- The Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him)

Mohammed (peace be upon him) is a prophet of Allah— just like Noah, Moses, and Jesus were also prophets of Allah. He is the messenger of Islam whom Allah has chosen to deliver the message of Islam.

The Quran [kuh·raan] is the name of the holy book of Islam, just like the bible is the holy book of christianity. The Quran has been the everlasting miracle of Islam for more than 1400 years and until the day of judgement. Allah has brought down the Quran in the Arabic language, but that doesn't mean you cannot still experience its meanings and wisdom. Translations of the Quran are available in virtually every language on Quran.com. To select your language, find the “Settings” icon on the upper right corner, scroll down till you reach “Translation Language” then choose your language from the dropdown menu. You can also choose the translation you want under your language from the "Translation" section lower down in "Settings".
- My Hijab

Ever wondered about that vail over my head? Well,
it's all a part of my religion, and it's called a "Hijab" [hee·jaab],
which in Arabic means a cover. Many people think that Islam
is oppressive of women and that a veil over my head hinders my everyday
activities and my ability to create and do my job. This is of course
not true and the obvious proof is to look at my life and see how Allah
has blessed me with so
many blessings and skills with which I can do my job, so a hijab
is in no way an obstacle.
